Maison Natsukashii: A Nostalgic Wine Sanctuary in the Heart of Central
Tucked along the lively dining stretch of Gough Street, Maison Natsukashii offers an intimate escape for wine lovers seeking meaningful connections over exceptional bottles. Founded by Mason Ng, crowned Asia’s Best Sommelier 2023, this refined 20-seat wine bar blends expertise, storytelling, and hospitality into a deeply personal dining experience.
The name itself reflects the venue’s philosophy. “Maison,” meaning house, and “Natsukashii,” a Japanese term evoking warm nostalgia, together embody a space where cherished memories are created and shared. The thoughtfully curated wine list highlights the elegance of classic French regions alongside the craftsmanship of boutique Japanese wineries. From bright and mineral-driven whites from Hokkaido to complex and layered Burgundy reds, each bottle is selected to inspire conversation and discovery.
The food programme mirrors this delicate balance between French refinement and Japanese subtlety. Comforting yet sophisticated sharing plates such as Raw Prawns with Caramelised Apple and Miso Braised Beef Cheek are designed to complement the wines while enhancing the convivial atmosphere. With over 1,600 bottles housed in its cellar, the selection encourages guests to explore both heritage and innovation.
Maison Natsukashii delivers a rare sense of intimacy within Central’s vibrant dining scene. Combining class with comfort and tradition with creativity, the wine bar invites guests to slow down, savour stories behind each bottle, and build genuine connections over every carefully poured glass.
