LucAle Tasting Italy

Creative food, Traditional, Pasta, Italian
LucAle: A Taste of Italy in Sai Ying Pun In the neighbourhood streets of Sai Ying Pun, LucAle was born from a simple idea: to recreate the warmth and conviviality of a true Italian neighbourhood restaurant in Hong Kong. Founded by Italian chefs Alessandro and Luca, the restaurant blends their names and their shared vision — a place where guests gather over handmade pasta, good wine and conversation.
Both chefs built their careers in some of Hong Kong’s most respected fine dining kitchens, yet LucAle is intentionally more personal and relaxed. The menu focuses on traditional Italian cooking with a subtle modern touch, using artisanal ingredients sourced from Italy. Handmade pasta is the heart of the menu, alongside seafood and meat dishes designed for sharing, best paired with Italian wines.
Signature dishes include black truffle chitarrino with Pienza pecorino, homemade ravioli with ricotta and mascarpone, and hearty meat dishes such as Fassona beef rib-eye. The atmosphere is lively and welcoming, echoing the comfort of a trattoria while embracing the neighbourhood spirit of Sai Ying Pun.
Hidden down a small alley, LucAle has become a favourite among those seeking authentic Italian flavours in a relaxed, intimate setting — a place where Hong Kong energy meets the Italian art of living well.
