18.04.2026French May Arts Festival 2026 in Hong Kong: A Radiant Re/naissance
During May and June 2026, Le French May returns to Hong Kong with the theme ‘Re/naissance’ — turning the arts into a city-wide experience you can walk through, and rediscover with both your eyes and ears.
The centrepiece is the ‘Hong Kong Jockey Club Series: Meet Mona Lisa & Portraying the Renaissance,’ sponsored by the Hong Kong Jockey Club. On one side, there’s ‘Meet Mona Lisa,’ an immersive digital journey co-created by the Louvre and GrandPalais Immersif;
on the other, ‘Portraying the Renaissance’ features carefully selected works from multiple European institutions, specially prepared for Hong Kong. Looking to pack a high density of cultural content into a weekend with the most efficient route? This pairing is the kind that will leave you wanting to book another visit as soon as you’ve finished.
More Than a Festival—A Creative Reboot for the City
Music is also the city’s seasoning. Want to change your mood with the evening breeze by Victoria Harbour?
DJ Snake will bring live electronic dance music to the waterfront; on another night, international award-winning jazz vocalist Youn Sun Nah, together with pianist Bojan Z., will weave every emotion into each note with Youn Sun Nah feat. Bojan Z. Shifting the lens to cross-disciplinary live performances: In Between – Wu Guanzhong’s Ink Odyssey, a collaboration between Hong Kong Dance and Le French May, starts from Wu Guanzhong’s paintings and brings ‘viewing’ back to the body and space.
For city-dwelling audiences like us, this isn’t just a programme schedule — it’s a guidebook to ‘where to go for inspiration tonight’.
