In the heart of Yau Ma Tei, Hong Kong’s beloved supermarket chain Wellcome has unveiled its first nostalgia concept store, transforming its Prosperous Garden branch into a retro destination celebrating the city’s retail heritage. Located opposite the historic Old Yau Ma Tei Police Station, the refreshed store invites visitors to step into a vivid time capsule inspired by Hong Kong’s 1950s to 1970s golden era.
From neon-inspired signage and vintage tile walls to retro televisions, street signs and nostalgic grocery displays, the space recreates the atmosphere of old Hong Kong supermarkets while offering curated local souvenirs and exclusive collaborations. Shoppers can also rediscover classic favourites such as glass-bottled Coca-Cola, warm Vitasoy, and heritage snacks alongside special promotions with brands like Lee Kum Kee, Colgate, and G.O.D. (Goods of Desire).
Part shopping experience and part cultural snapshot, the Wellcome Nostalgia Concept Store blends retail history, photo-worthy moments and local flavours into a uniquely Hong Kong destination for both locals and visitors.
