The name ‘1935’ draws from the birthdate of the founder’s grandmother, who was born in Si Chuan and was a renowned master chef in the area. 1935 is a reminiscent of grandma’s home, which comprises many of the nostalgic memory between the founder and grandma. Using royal blue and white as main colour tone, the space is classy and elegant. With ample of wood decor and a touch of metallic, the place evokes the Artdeco era. The seats are inspired from the founder and grandma ’s train journey to Hong Kong, and they are designed to mimic retro train cabin. In day time, the space is sufficient natural light given that over half of the restaurant are with floor to ceiling windows. At dinner time, ambience is rather romantic and comfy, thanks to the Artisanmade pendants that diffuse soft lights for diners to enjoy the Sichuan delights. Unlike usual Si Chuan cuisine in Hong Kong that overuse chilli to numb your tongue, you can taste levels of spiciness oozing out in the dishes at 1935. This is because all the chills are particularly sourced, creating dishes that have depth but not firing kick only. Signature Dishes • Braised Winter melon, Conpoy, double boiled chicken stock • Fried Crispy Soft Shell Crab, Sichuan Dried Chili • Poached Giant Garoupa, Sichuan Chili Fish Broth
