Shek Pai Wan Beach

Beach, Dog hikes, Beach View, Nature
Nestled between the small villages of Yung Shue Ha and Tung O (likely a deserted village) lies Shek Pai Wan, the longest beach on Lamma Island. Reaching this picturesque beach requires a hike of approximately 25 to 45 minutes, depending on your starting point. Upon arrival at Shek Pai Wan, you’ll be greeted by a vast expanse of soft sand, framed by hills on one side and the sea on the other. The shoreline, adorned with scattered rocks, is continuously kissed by waves, creating a serene and picturesque setting. The beach’s relative seclusion adds to its appeal, offering a tranquil escape from the crowds. Just 10-15 minutes away is Sham Wan, the only Green Turtle nesting site in Hong Kong and one of the few in the South China Sea. Shek Pai Wan, though a simple village, has preserved its rich fishing culture since its inception, making it one of Hong Kong’s most unique locations. The area around the Sok Kwu Wan ferry pier is abundant with seafood restaurants, reflecting the village’s enduring fishing heritage.
