Mason Pocket: A Sunlit Korean-Style Bakery Café in Sheung Wan
If you’ve wandered through Sheung Wan recently, you may have noticed the bright corner space on Queen’s Road West at Queen’s Terrace. That welcoming, sun-filled café is Mason Pocket, a newly opened bakery, coffee, and brunch destination that is quickly drawing attention from pastry lovers across Hong Kong.
Founded by Korean restaurateur Mason Kim, the café introduces a refined Korean minimalist aesthetic to the neighbourhood. The spacious interior features custom furniture imported from Korea, complemented by Mason’s personal art collection, creating a warm yet contemporary atmosphere. With both indoor and outdoor seating — and a pet-friendly policy — Mason Pocket offers a relaxed space ideal for families, remote workers, or casual gatherings with friends.
The café has gained early popularity for its signature pastries, particularly its viral Portuguese-style egg tarts. Guests can choose from flavours such as Classic, Sweet Corn, Hazelnut, and Pistachio, each offering a rich, custardy filling inside delicate, flaky pastry. Freshly baked croissants and puff pastries are also highlights, alongside specialty coffee and flavoured lattes.
From the team behind Kactus Koffee, Pecorino, and Jeonpo Meat Shop, Mason Pocket continues the group’s reputation for stylish and quality-driven dining concepts. With an expanded brunch menu launching in early 2026, the café is set to become a vibrant new lifestyle hub in Sheung Wan.
