Jaa Bar
Drink, Gay, Chill, Different Experience
A Hidden Living-Room Bar in Central Tucked away in a quiet alley off Peel Street, JaaBar captures everything Hongkongers secretly love: intimacy, discretion, and the thrill of finding a place no one else knows. Run by the friendly trio Jamie, Andrea and Anne, this tiny 400 sq ft hideaway feels less like a bar and more like stepping into someone’s plush living room, complete with velvet drapes, warm lighting and deep red furnishings.
There’s nothing pretentious here. No password, no minimum spend, no gatekeeping. Instead, guests are welcomed as though they’re joining a house gathering. Signature drinks include the Jaa – a sparkling mix of prosecco, raspberry liqueur and vodka – and the Obama, a refreshing blackberry-vodka mojito twist that’s become a quiet favourite.
JaaBar’s charm lies not only in its cocktails but in its warmth. In a city filled with flashy hotspots, this humble alley bar stands out for its character, comfort and the effortless friendliness of its owners. Finding it is half the fun; returning is easy.
