Ancient Echoes Return to the Stage
18.02.2026Harmonia — A Bold Celebration of Bodies in Motion
21–22 March 2026, Harmonia makes its Asia Premiere at The Box, Freespace, with performances on 21 March at 8pm and 22 March at 3pm.
Created by Hungarian choreographer Adrienn Hód with Unusual Symptoms, the dance company of Theatre Bremen, Harmonia is a provocative and deeply human exploration of the possibilities and limits of different bodies.
Tender yet demanding, the work invites audiences to reconsider the meaning of the body in dance and society, moving beyond traditional hierarchies and expectations.
Redefining Dance, Reframing the Gaze
Featuring an ensemble of dancers with and without disabilities, Harmonia playfully dismantles classical conventions while questioning even the assumed progressiveness of contemporary dance.
Through shared explorations of physical diversity, joyful exuberance and subtle self-irony, the performance builds from an unconventional opening to a powerful, celebratory climax — challenging perceptions and demanding unwavering attention.
Premiered in Bremen in 2022, the work was named Best Work at the 2023 Rudolf Laban Award in Hungary and selected for Tanzplattform Deutschland 2024.
