CENSU

Japan, Lovers, Izakaya, Sharing, Fine Dining
CENSU is a contemporary Japanese restaurant with U.K. and Australian influences, created by Chef Shun Sato. Inspired by Chef Shun’s grandmother’s house, the interiors reflect the Wabi-sabi concept – appreciating imperfect beauty and simplicity. Designed by Jamo Associates and Shigenobu Yamaoka, the venue evokes a cozy, modern ambiance. Shun Sato’s first solo restaurant is known for its izakaya style and wabi-sabi decor. Start with sashimi like oysters with yuzu sanbaizu or hamachi with tomato ponzu. Popular fried dishes include minced pork-filled chicken wings and truffled scallop-prawn tempura. Don’t miss the three-yellow chicken paella and crab miso udon. Enjoy a selection of sakes or a highball from the cocktail menu. Censu, meaning “folding fan,” references the senses: smell, taste, touch, sound, and sight, as well as the restaurant’s craft, fashion, music, and design. Marks on tables and chairs reflect the wabi-sabi philosophy of finding beauty in imperfections.
