Birdie was opened by the 298HK group (298 Nikuya Room and 298 Nikuya Kitchen). Birdie specialises in chicken, specifically yakitori (grilled chicken skewers). Surrounding the kitchen is a horseshoe bar with the best seats offering a good view into the open kitchen, for more privacy we suggest making a reservation for the smaller tables. The customer is given the choice of seasoning the skewers with just salt, or with the tare sauce; from thigh and wing, liver , heart and hatsumoto (the muscle attaching to the chicken heart). The establishment is also home to a number of meat and vegetable skewers and side dishes. Signature dishes The celery pickle, seasonal yakirtori. (liver, fatty tails, whole hearts, hatsumoto), the tsukune (chicken meatball with chopped mountain yam)
