A Dazzling Parade Welcomes the Year of the Horse
The Chinese New Year Night Parade takes place on the first evening of the Lunar New Year, with festivities beginning at 6:00pm in Tsim Sha Tsui. This spectacular celebration transforms Hong Kong’s waterfront district into a glowing festival of colour, culture and creativity, marking the start of the Year of the Horse with extraordinary energy.
The parade showcases elaborately designed floats from leading brands, tourism boards and cultural institutions, each bringing its own artistic interpretation of prosperity, heritage and modern celebration. From Cathay Pacific’s time-tunnel journey through aviation history to Hong Kong Disneyland’s magical anniversary party and Ocean Park’s festive panda celebration, every float reflects Hong Kong’s vibrant spirit and storytelling tradition.
A Celebration of Culture, Innovation and Festive Joy
Visitors can expect an unforgettable atmosphere filled with international dance troupes, festive performers and dazzling visual displays that transform the city streets into a living theatre. Nostalgia meets innovation through floats inspired by McDonald’s retro train installation, Hong Kong art toy culture, sustainable wishing traditions from Lam Tsuen, and Macao’s heritage charm guided by the beloved mascot Mak Mak.
Together, these performances create a joyful narrative celebrating Hong Kong as a global events capital, blending traditional Chinese New Year symbolism with contemporary creativity. The parade embodies unity, optimism and cultural pride, offering visitors and locals alike an inspiring and energetic start to the new year.
