Walking the Infinite Path of Wisdom Through Ink
From 4 October 2025 to 1 March 2026, Transcribing Wisdom: Jao Tsung-I’s Heart Sutra Calligraphy and the ‘Wisdom Path’ celebrates the twentieth anniversary of Hong Kong’s iconic Wisdom Path through a rare and immersive artistic showcase.
Jointly presented by the Jao Tsung-I Petite Ecole of The University of Hong Kong and the Sun Museum, the exhibition unveils an exceptional selection of the master scholar’s Heart Sutra calligraphy, revealing the profound dialogue between spiritual philosophy, artistic devotion, and cultural heritage.
Where Calligraphy Bridges Philosophy and Inner Reflection
Visitors will discover Jao’s calligraphy across multiple scripts and artistic phases, including the original large-character works used to carve the celebrated Wisdom Path on Lantau Island.
Complemented by paintings and thematic works, the exhibition explores the Buddhist philosophy of impermanence and emptiness, inviting viewers to reflect on balance, transformation, and inner serenity through the timeless beauty of ink art.
