This month marks the opening of YUAN, Hong Kong’s pioneering Chinese vegetarian fine dining restaurant. Led by chefs Ronald Shao and Law Chak Kei, YUAN offers innovative interpretations of traditional Chinese cuisine, with a focus on nature-centric, allium-free dishes. The name ‘YUAN’ means ‘circle,’ symbolizing nature’s renewal. Their plant-based lunch tasting menu and 12-course all-day tasting menu showcase seasonal ingredients, featuring dishes like Dried Ginger and Iceplant Canape, Matsutake Soup with Chrysanthemum Tofu, and Braised Winter Melon with Preserved Vegetables.
